Dear Reader
I am currently in the throes of putting together next year's seminar programme. I am planning to run a series of monthly master classes via teleseminars on different topics and with a selection of experts. These teleseminars are going to be content rich so you will be able to take away quite a bit from them and easily apply information and tips in your daily life.
If you have a topic that you'd like me to focus on then please email me and let me know! I would love to hear from you
In this issue:
- What your symptoms say about your health
- BBC radio interviews Rumana on Iridology
- Aviva gets you thinking about how you make decisions
With Love

Personal Reflections
I am often asked to speak at events and with recently being asked to speak on the radio I decided to get some voice coaching. One of my aims is to maximise the impact of using voice during speaking engagements.
Fergus provided me with a mic. and headphones (to get used to listening to my speaking voice). He got me to say "mary had a little lamb..." - my first attempt was in my usual voice but the sound waves on the computer screen weren't so good.
He took me through some vocal exercises and asked me to say it again, this time with as much expression as possible and really getting me out of my vocal comfort zone. It felt weird as I had to get what felt like different sounds in pitch, tone and volume. When he played it back to me; I really did have much more expression in my voice!
It was at this time I found myself getting flashbacks to my childhood and it wasn't until after the session I realised what had been happening to my voice.
By the third time of applying the techniques and speaking into the software I really had a different sound coming out of my mouth. This time when he played back the sound file my voice was much richer and smoother, the sound waves on the computer screen were much higher and variable. Wow, what a difference!
The flashbacks to my childhood were quite enlightening as I had come to realise having been bought up in a overly disciplined environment must have created deep instilled boundaries which obviously reflected in the notes I could and could not get with my voice. I am sure with retraining this will change and will bring with it a sense of healing not only for my voice but something deep within.
If you want to get to know more on this subject I recommend reading Paul Newman's book called The Healing Voice or check out Fergus's website.

What Do Your Symptoms Say About You?
Most of the time we manage to keep our ailments at bay but when the stress goes up or our vitality lowers we can often spot a pattern to our symptoms. Some clients will say "I always get a cold when I go on holiday" or "I get headaches at weekends".
A health practitioner is like a detective trying to find a solution but often the answer can be in...

Decisions Decisions Decisions
Inspirational Life Coach, Aviva Baran shares her wisdom to keep us all engaged with our inner sparkle.
When you are making a decision do you think about it logically or do you make a decision from the heart?
- Perhaps you blend logic and heart?
- Possibly you are someone who checks with friends or family before making decisions and may find it difficult to trust your own choices?
- Or do you connect to your values and understand how they can help you to decide?
- Maybe you make decisions to please others to keep the peace?
- Perhaps you put off making decisions because it all feels too hard?
- Maybe you are too scared of making the wrong decision?
- Do you decide impulsively and then regret it?
- Possibly you decide quite easily but then obsess later about what you should've done?!
- And you never thought decision making could be such an intricate process?
- Perhaps it doesn't have to be!
Would you like decision making to be a lot easier?
Which Remedy?
There are so many good ones on the market but which one is the best to go for...?
Flaxseeds
Flaxseeds are also known as Linseeds, these seeds are excellent for so many things.
Firstly they have the highest percentage of essential fatty acids than any other seed, particularly omega 3's. The seeds are high in fibre and lignans. A real natural support for bowel conditions such as constipation and certain inflammation conditions such as colitis or crohn's. The oil content in the seeds will also help hormones, skin, hair and nails. They have even been known to help reduce cholesterol and high blood pressure. This is principally due to the lignan content within the seed.
You can get Flaxseed Oil but it will contain less fibre and lignan. Lignans are a newly discovered group of substances called plant oestrogens. Some researchers believe they can help in preventing cancers of the breast, prostate, uterus and colon. And, due to their hormonal balancing abilities they can be beneficial for hormonal support for both men and women.
You can get golden flaxseeds which are larger and tastier and the brown linseeds which contain slightly more oil than the golden. Just add a teaspoon to your breakfast or take as a mixed seed snack.
