It's been three weeks since I returned from taking a group of 15 through a Yoga, Walking and Detoxification week in Spain. What a truly inspirational group it was too. The plan I put together was to support and nurture the body but at the same time to deeply cleanse in order to shift build up of toxins and any sluggishness within the system. Everyone in the group completely immersed themselves in the activities to help rejuvenate their body, mind and spirit. I know some of you are keen to know how it went. The best way to let you know is how others experienced it. We received some wonderful feedback from the group in Spain and here are some of their comments.
Taking a group through a cleansing regime allows individuals to share their stories and support each other through the process emotionally and mentally. I really feel this is important, so much so that I'm soon going to add a 'community' dimension to my website so that you can all share your experiences and discuss to your hearts content. On a practical and day to day note, it's important to remember not to mentally beat yourself up or get too stressed that you're not eating healthily 100% of the time. It is difficult to get 100% good quality food 100% of the time. The principle I often recommend is if you eat healthily 80% of the time (2 meals out of 3 or 5 days out of 7) then that's pretty good. You can veer off course slightly particularly where it is difficult to get good food or you're out at a party or other unavoidable circumstances. Do come back on track though, even if you feel you've gone way off. Even small simple changes will help - i.e. reducing the coffee or tea down to one cup a day or maybe limiting your alcohol intake by keeping it down to weekends only. I've been asked if I'm going to organise another Cleansing week next year and the answer is most likely. I'll keep you posted on this. What I am planning to organise for January 2006 is a weekend workshop on detoxification, after Christmas is always a good time! Dates out soon. I have also just come back from a Kinesiology Conference and there was some facinating research on cancer and prevention of it. I'll write more about this in the next newsletter. Keep well! Warm regards October 2005
