Request for Help

One of my aims is to further increase the circulation of this newsletter and I would like to ask for your help in actively sending out this newsletter to 3 or more friends/colleagues who you know might find it helpful. Please ask them to register at the home page on Rumana Health Website

Dear All

It seems I haven't written this newsletter for quite some time and I haven't. Summer has come and nearly gone! So much has been going on. You can read about the Yoga Walking Detox Retreat that I ran in June, updates on recent conferences I've attended and what's new as well as all the interesting health tips to help you along your continuous health journey.

Just to keep you informed of some in-house news - Rumana Health has just become a Limited company! This is unlikely to affect you in any way other than any payments now need to be made to Rumana Health Ltd. It makes a difference internally on how the business is run but will not effect on delivery of the services.

I have also been busy writing the new Rumana Health website soon to be updated. The new site will contain many free articles and information for you to access as well as it getting a new look. So watch this space.

Please keep writing in with your stories, requests on what topics you'd like me to cover or your experiences with any products.

Enjoy!

Inspirational Story

I love your stories and so do others. If you have something to share please write in.

This one is from Alan.

I used to have a number of minor problems with my skin that were beginning to overwhelm me. It started with a negative reaction to Anti Perspirants. Six months later I had to stop using shower gels as this was causing a painful underarm rash. I also had an itchy scalp and sticky eyes.

I tried to counteract the problems by using non-SLS shampoos and soap. Regular visits to the Doctor resulted in different prescriptions for each of the problems I was suffering. The same problems kept returning over and over again. I was in a vicious circle of decline and fatigue.

I believe I have a healthy lifestyle and maintain a good diet. I felt that I was not doing anything wrong there. In November I read an article in the 'You' magazine about Iridology. I remembered that my Father once used the services of a practitioner with positive results. I got to know Rumana through the professional organisation that she belongs to.

Rumana decided to implement a cleansing of the main organs. The problems diminished with every stage of the process. The process was removing toxins from my body that had built up over many years. I have taken Rumana's dietary advice and have changed a number of aspects of my diet. Primary changes involved an avoidance of Cows Milk products and an introduction to Juicing.

After each stage of cleansing my skin condition did improve. It was not until the third cleanse that I noticed dramatic improvements.

I have never had skin in such good condition. I no longer take mineral supplements to treat sore hands and knees.

Rumana's holistic approach to diagnosis and treatments has handed control of my body back to me.

Retreat Review

Yoga, Walking and Detox Week in Spain in June 06

The Yoga, Walking and Detox Retreat I ran in June was superb. Everyone who attended had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The venue we chose was beautiful and we will continue to hold future retreats there. In fact due to demand, next year we are planning on holding 2 separate weeks one in June and one in September. Dates will be confirmed in the next newsletter.

Again we received some wonderful feedback. Here are just some of the comments received from those who attended:

"Location was fantastic - an amazing start to any holiday is to pick the oranges that you will eat for lunch!" Matthew Woodeson

"Programme was fantastic, experience massively informative." Mai

"Food was amazing, venue, excellent, spiritual, calming and perfect for what we were doing. The whole programme was fantastic, far surpassed my expectations.

I suddenly realised that there was more to me than I have ever allowed my self to believe." Sam Dixon

"I know so much more about nutrition and have come to understand my own digestive system in a way which I think will be life changing. Thank you so much!" Judith Lewis

"It's a great way to kick start a healthy living programme with extremely knowledgeable people around you." Odile Wittemans

"Gentle detox, gentle yoga, good food, great people, and wonderful mountains. Worth it.

6 days not enough. Ideally 2 weeks or even 10 days would be great" Teresa Saliba

Your Part in Life's Rich Tapestry

Recently I was at Herbfest - a herbal conference and gathering of like minded practitioners. With the many different branches of herbal medicine - western, Chinese, Ayurvedic, African I found all of these hugely interesting bringing their own traditions and experiences into the modern world. Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India is based on over 5000 years of knowledge and its principles of healing all made sense and still can be and are very much applied today. In keeping yourself well Ayurveda also uses an integrated approach combining - daily practices of eating wholesome food, taking time to sit quietly to eat, taking care of your emotional health, exercising regularly, taking adequate rest and integrating in community life.

How many of us I wonder do contribute to community life? Be as independent as you like but you will find you cannot go a day without some interaction with fellow members of your community, be it at work or home. Just think of the effect a good neighbour can have in your life, helping you when needed and vice versa. I'm not saying go out and start chatting to all your neighbours or even to be altruistic with all your time but there is a sense of worth gained when participating and 'doing your bit' whatever your bit may be.

I have recently been elected onto the board of the Association of Master Herbalists. It was something I opted to do because I really want to make a difference in the UK when the new herbal legislation comes into force. It feels good to be doing this although I know it will take time, no doubt many hours of discussion and debates and administration.

If you had a passion that you could lever to change something in your local community or workplace what would it be?

Which Remedy?

There are so many good ones on the market but which one is the best to go for...

I was recently asked to advise a woman on the supplement Collagen. She wanted to use it to replace what she was losing and to help her reduce the effects of the ageing process. Collagen is a tough protein that gives great strength to cartilage, ligaments, bone and teeth. It is also used to help keep the elasticity of the skin. Hence the beauty industry is really promoting its use for reducing wrinkles in the ageing process. Does it work?If your aim is to slow down the ageing process, taking just Collagen on its own is a very limited way of going about it. Does that mean I believe that slowing down the ageing process is possible? Yes, but you would need a full programme to work on it. Collagen may well be a part of that jigsaw but managing all the other aspects of health is just as important. A good diet is essential but relies on an efficient digestive system. If the digestive system isn't working in breaking down proteins efficiently then you certainly wouldn't be getting the best from your diet therefore collagen supplementation would help.Your attitude to life is also just as important as diet. As Deepak Chopra points out in his book Ageless Body Timeless Mind, we have three ages, chronological, biological and psychological (attitudinal) age. How many people do you know look older than they are and what about those who look younger than they are? What are they or aren't they doing? Why not ask them what they do to keep looking so good? And don't forget your own methods too.

Coaching for Truth and Authenticity

Inspirational Life Coach, Aviva Baran shares her wisdom to keep us all engaged with our inner sparkle.

Aviva BaranIt takes great courage to tell the truth and discover the truth.

When we say 'Yes' when we really mean 'No'; when we say things are okay when they are not, for instance when avoiding difficult topics of conversation, or where we pretend to enjoy something like food, sex, or the way we are spending our time; or even to avoid upsetting another.

We may continue to tolerate things that are intolerable to us just to avoid a conflict. Deciding whether or not we choose to speak our truth needs to come from our own honesty with ourselves about why we are speaking the truth. Truth can enhance or destroy a relationship, depending upon the intent.

Ask yourself - am I speaking my truth to enhance the relationship, or to get the other person to change?

You will feel on top of the world when you finally have the courage to speak your heartfelt truth when your intent is to support your own and others' highest good.
