by Naturopath Rumana Zahn Hello and Welcome! I am grateful to many of you for sharing this newsletter with others and spreading the word. Thank you. Anyone can receive it by simply registering at the Rumana Health website. A continued big heartfelt thanks to many of you who have been referring clients to me. My business grows through your word of mouth and I am deeply grateful to so many of you for supporting me. Dear All Happy New Year to you all! I hope you feel refreshed and recharged after the break. I am delighted to let you all know that my new Website has finally been launched! Hooray! It has taken a lot of work but has been worthwhile. It offers much more information in an easy to access way. There are free articles, a forum, newsletters, information on retreats and treatments. You will also be able to view Sam's Blog. Sam is a client currently undergoing treatment and shares her thoughts and feelings about her journey to health. It is written by her and is amusing to read so please do take a peek. I have included her in this newsletter so you can get the link below. I will be doing some promotion with Origins (a natural beauty company) in some North East department stores during February. They are launching a new eye cream formulated by Dr Andrew Weil [8 weeks to Optimum Health] and I will be offering free Iridology assessments. You can book in by contacting the Origins counter within John Lewis Newcastle, House of Fraser or Debenhams at the Metro Centre, Gateshead. Please send in any of your stories, news about things you have done that has helped you, or topics you would like more information about. Feedback and comments about the website are also welcome. With Love
Personal Reflections This is quite a poignant year for me because I am approaching my 40th birthday! And no I certainly don't feel it! Someone asked me what I would like to do before reaching 40 and this set off a whole chain of thoughts. We often think that life begins at 40 but that seems to be old school thinking because we live in a culture where we are told to look at where we are in our life and are we doing what we really want. What this time has really made me aware of is my mortality. When you are young you think that life will go on forever. I do want to live a long and healthy life, in the best of health as possible. Having read hundreds of texts on health, life and longevity it doesn't matter what age you are, maximising your life and enjoying it will take you a long way. Like everyone else I am constantly bombarded with modern day responsibilities. So yes I do sometimes struggle with trying to do things with ease. But I passionately enjoy what I do and that makes it worthwhile, and I really have been living life to the full. What really makes it enjoyable is experiencing more fun, joy and laughter because these experiences help give me energy, make me feel brighter and diffuse negativity within and around me. Simply laughing can change the mood and workflow of the whole office!
Testimonial Dear Rumana My experiences of working with Aviva as my life coach have been extraordinary, satisfying and liberating. In three months of one-on-one coaching, during which I committed to two forty-minute calls a month (and unlimited email support), Aviva was always honest and helped me go beyond what I thought was possible. Aviva's style is direct and positive, challenging your stereotypes about yourself and how you see the world. Each week Aviva set me, and I agreed to complete, action-based exercises that helped me to discover my underlying values. She allowed me to realise that I am not a complete failure and focus on my achievements and accomplishments, the first steps to building my future. I began with a free trial session on the telephone, consisting of one brief exercise which produced what I might call a 'ping' moment; suddenly I 'got it.' That's when I knew Aviva was the right coach for me. Thanks to Aviva's outstanding coaching, I am now ready to take on my mission in life: to make a difference, illuminating others. Love from

Our Potential to Change I was recently
presenting to the Institute of Directors on the subject of
Wellbeing at Work. One of the points I emphasised was that
our minds are so full of all the things we need to do -
meeting priorities, deadlines, fulfilling to do lists -
that the pressures of life just take over.

April 2006 Quite proud I have come this far myself without feeling the need to keep pestering Rumana. Its day 5 of the bowel cleanse and I just keep thinking of this as a gift to myself. (It makes some of the more rancid potions easier to swallow!!). However there are a few things I need to ask....As yet no monsters have crawled out of my bum, so I'm thinking that I'm not doing it properly? Hmm......The headache is like elastic bands being squeezed round my head......had a massage but its back so I'm trying yoga tonight!! My friend Jill says I must have been almost as toxic as Sellafield..... "I think I'm in a Rut"

"Location was fantastic - an amazing start to any holiday is to pick the oranges that you will eat for lunch!" Matthew Woodeson "Programme was fantastic, experience massively informative." Mai "Food was amazing, venue, excellent, spiritual, calming and perfect for what we were doing. The whole programme was fantastic, far surpassed my expectations. I suddenly realised that there was more to me than I have ever allowed my self to believe." Sam Dixon "I know so much more about nutrition and have come to understand my own digestive system in a way which I think will be life changing. Thank you so much!" Judith Lewis "It's a great way to kick start a healthy living programme with extremely knowledgeable people around you." Odile Wittemans "Gentle detox, gentle yoga, good food, great people, and wonderful mountains. Worth it. 6 days not enough. Ideally 2 weeks or even 10 days would be great" Teresa Saliba Which Remedy? There are so many good ones on the market but which one is the best to go for... If you haven't had a cold or flu so far then you may like to boost your immune system for prevention. If you have already had a cold this winter you may want a little help to clear the last remnants or to boost your system for the rest of winter. Warming foods are great in the winter, such as chilli, garlic, black pepper, onions and ginger. If you already have a lot of 'heat' in the body or generally feel hot then you may find these foods heat you even more so you may wish to keep them low in the diet. Ginger is a really wonderful digestive aid and can help to reduce flatulence, can also help colds, chills as well as stimulating the circulation. Here are some interesting ways to use it:
