Your Life's Journey

- there's more to it than you think.

If you could write a book about your life how would the story go?

Would it be a comedy, romance or thriller?

Life is a journey and it’s amazing how the twists and turns lead you to a particular point in your life.

When a client is telling me about their symptoms there will undoubtedly be a story behind it. I want to know the factors that have lead them to this point, as they may have played a significant role in the symptoms being there.

In my assessment I can quickly become aware that the physical symptoms presented may also have many emotions, thinking and lifestyle issues behind them. As author Carolyn Myss puts it so nicely: ‘your biology is your biography’.

When we set out on a journey sometimes we have a notion of where we are going and sometimes we don’t. But we still set out. We only really reflect (if at all) when we get there or when something has gone wrong or sometimes at the end of the year. This reflection process is vital if we are to course correct during our life as it helps us to become aware of not making the same mistakes again or changing things to improve our life.

Knowing and understanding this process can be of huge benefit, because in health we know that whatever we do affects us in some way. It helps us not to become the victims but rather empowers us to take responsibility for ourselves and consider our actions. That, in fact, sometimes the pill or potion is not going to work because it’s an underlying emotion or issue that still needs to be addressed.

Many naturopaths say that healing occurs once you remove the block that is causing the illness. This process may help you identify the block and get you focussing in on it.

So where do you start? You could begin simply by sitting quietly reflecting on things yourself or if you need to talk things through then chat to a friend and ask him/ or her to listen. Or you can find a good life coach or practitioner who works in the area you want help in where they will guide you accordingly.

Remember that the most amazing part of life is being alive. The probability of you being alive here and now in our big gigantic universe should be enough to say the least. But as I would say, there’s living life and there’s existing which one are you?

Life coach Joo-Lee Stock and I have put togetherFizz into Life! wellbeing workshops in the new year for those of you who want to focus on working on yourself. You can hold your own evening at home and invite some friends. It easy. More information at www.fizzintolife.com
